Introduction

On 28 May 2025, the China Hong Kong Railway Institution (CHKRI) and the Beijing Railway Society successfully organized a joint seminar titled “Driving the Digital Intelligence Development of Chinese Railways through Technological Innovation”. The seminar attracted industry professionals and experts. The seminar introduced the policy background, analyzed the current state and development needs of railway digital intelligence, and showcased the innovative practices of the Beijing Research Institute. Key applications discussed included drone inspection operations, yard shunting car matching systems, and tunnel landslide monitoring systems. The Beijing Research Institute also shared its breakthroughs and contributions to areas such as tunnel monitoring, automated pressure gauge detection system, highlighting its application in China’s railway The seminar concluded with an engaging Q&A session, fostering valuable discussions on the future of railway digitalization.
