The GRS/CHKRI 20th Senior Railway Engineering and Management Course, jointly organized by the Guangdong Railway Society and the China Hong Kong Railway Institution, will take place from 14 to 16 November 2024 in Guangzhou. The theme for this year is “Innovating the Future of Rail Transit: Sustainable Development and Technological Advancements in the Greater Bay Area.”

The three-day course includes a series of expert-led lectures and discussions covering critical topics such as fostering connectivity in the Greater Bay Area through rail transit, green and low-carbon rail systems, technological innovation in operations and maintenance, and the modernization of management systems. Esteemed speakers include former Chief Engineers and senior experts from Guangzhou Railway Group, Guangzhou Metro University, and China Hong Kong Railway Institution.

The event will also explore the historical mission of railways under the “Belt and Road Initiative” and sustainable development considerations for the railway industry. A networking dinner will provide an opportunity for knowledge exchange among participants. The course concludes with a graduation ceremony, marking the participants’ achievements and fostering further collaboration between Guangdong and Hong Kong railway professionals.
